First Impression: Everybody said this was a great movie…except Jessie. Since I don’t value Jessie’s opinion that much, i decided to rent it anyway. It did win an Oscar, and I need to watch all the Oscar winners this year.
Afterthoughts: Well damn, maybe I should have listened to Jessie after all. Other than a few scenes this was just completely boring and completely overrated. Ellen Page’s Juno was possibly the most unsympathetic character I’ve ever seen in a movie. Was I suppose to crack up at her sarcastic comments? Was I suppose to find her love for punk rock relatable? Was I not suppose to be annoyed at her complete lack of respect for anybody? Because all I did was trying to sit through this movie to get my rental’s worth. Let’s move on to Michael Cera, who I found great on Arrested Development. He needs to find another range of acting style, one that doesn’t involve him being a complete dork. It was funny the first time, but just tiring in every other movies he’s in. And Jason Bateman…how could you choose Ellen Page over Jennifer Garner?! This isn’t a comedy, this is on the tragedy level of a train wreck.
